And a partridge in a pear tree.....
While reading about "The Robbie in Dallas Weekend", I was thinking about how much I love those laugh til you cry moments. In our family we have had many of those moments and even now I can lay in my bed reliving these moments and laugh out loud. Here are just a few of my all time favorite Hambly Family moments:
-The pantyhose over the face incident. So funny. (by the way, when one person does something in our family, everyone else has to do it to. You will have your name chanted until you do, so you might as well get it over with.)
-Grandma Irma doing the partridge in a pear tree and also Grandma Irma with the whoopie cushion and also Grandma Irma with the toilet paper. Damn, I sure miss her...so much good entertainment. We also have to thank her for ham roll ups in our lives.
-The family dinner band.....
-Dad and Uncle Steve telling stories that they can't get through because they are laughing so hard they can't talk.
-The Lord of the Dance christmas talent.
I know there are so many more....but, these stick out to me. Good times.
What are some of yours?

How can you forget "I have no back! I have no back!" ?? Another one of my favorites that sticks out is when my mom and dad didnt own a couch (which is really weird now that I think about it) but we just laid around on the king size mattress they brought out for company. Remember having to bounce in the middle as we all sang primary songs so Kamdyn would calm down? Ahhh- good times. Or how about Grandma Hambly trying to walk in Mickey Mouse shoes and Eric and Marys wedding? May she rest in peace. Our family rocks!
Um, you guys made me (see the pantyhose over the head disclaimer) do the chicken dance with a pillow and pillowcase over my head! Justin and I weren't even engaged yet! The interpretive dance of "I have no back" was pretty good, and the photos of "Bud" at our wedding still makes me smile. Just sitting back and listening to you pure-blooded Hamblys tell stories is a riot, too.
The clarinet, the clarinet, goes doodle doodle doodle-et. Wait I remembered the BEST one! Remember when Steven and Dawnelle did the hair/pig nose thing telling the christmas story for their talent? but they dropped the hair and just had their hands up there? Classic! No one can forget mine and Jareds version of Bucking Bronco either. We showed that to our friends a couple weeks ago and I'm not going to lie- they were impressed!
How about Jensa trying to eat the puppet show, or Sonny and Cher, or Maryann, the Professor and Gilligan. Does the word ventriloquist (sorry about the spelling) mean anything?
PS. I think its time to do the pantyhose again. Fast Sunday dinner is coming up.:)
I think Suey and Steve had something there with the mattress. Have you ever been so comfortable at someone's house in all your life? I love these memories...Shan, you and Jared can buck like none other, ummm...you know what I mean.
Yes, we can buck like no other. And yes, I know what you mean. It's funny how none of these memories cost a lot of money or happened while we were on expensive vacations. In fact- its the exact opposite. It's the simple things that make our family so funny. Just thinking about the road trip up to Justin and Jenns house and the walkie talkies cracks me up! And the hoodie picture I have! Hilarious. Or how bout the fact that we got kicked out of that room in Mammoth because we were being so loud. (Well, Suey and Jared WERE on top of eachother fighting over that spoon!) And the apples at that hotel. Mmmm- I loved those green apples! This was a great post Janelle. Made my day to go down memory lane for a bit!
Is that Sue that actually posted a comment?! The "My back, my back" story is probably one of the funniest. I laughed out loud just reading "my back, my back". It makes me sad sometimes that I live so far away. We really do have the best family ever. I don't think any other family has as much fun as we do. I can't wait to visit in July. Good times.
OK, sorry, don't know you Janelle, but the one Hambly thing that sticks out is something about "Do you need a metal spoon to eat that?" with ice cream. Your family & Steve's were at a beach house in Oxnard for the week and a bunch of the ward youth crashed it, and we all went in to eat ice cream. Some of us had plastic spoons and Steven and Kevin were laughing hysterically offering me a metal spoon. I have no idea what the joke was. Shannon's right - no expensive vacations needed for y'all!
